Marching for Mothers

Quedgeley Medical Centre is inviting expectant mothers and mothers and fathers of children under the age of two to join us in Marching for Mothers this World Maternal Mental Health Day.

This gentle walk around the local area will start from the Practice waiting room and will be led by one of our Social Prescribers, with support from our Mental Health Practitioner and a local midwife.

Please aim to arrive for an initial meet and greet at 1.20pm and ensure you are appropriately dressed for a gentle walk that will last up to an hour.

Whilst we welcome children and partners/friends, we must ask that dogs are not brought along for this walk to ensure the safety and comfort of all involved.

World Maternal Mental Health Day exists to raise awareness around the globe for better Maternal Mental Health Care.

As many as 1 in 5 new mothers experiences some type of perinatal mood and anxiety disorder (PMADs). These illnesses frequently go unnoticed and untreated, often with tragic and long-term consequences to both mother and child.
