NHS Gloucestershire ICB is aware that some pharmacies in the area have been temporarily closed. This may have affected the way you would normally collect or receive your medication.
We understand that this may be causing you some concern, and we are working with the affected pharmacies to restore normal services.
In the meantime, we want to highlight some alternative options to help you get your medication. What you can do now:
Your options
Change your chosen pharmacy through the NHS App
How can you do this:
- Log in using the NHS App or website
- Go to the homepage or Your Health
- Select View and manage prescriptions
- Select Your chosen pharmacy. You’ll see the name and details of your chosen pharmacy. To change it, select Change your chosen pharmacy
- Follow the instructions to choose a pharmacy.
Alternatively, you can go to your new chosen pharmacy and ask them to change your nomination for you.
If you are not able to do either of the above, you can go to your GP practice who can help change this for you.
What this means for you:
- Your prescriptions will be sent to a different pharmacy.
- You may choose to change it again at any time.
- A full list of local pharmacies can be found on the NHS website.
A pharmacy that can deliver to your home
There are lots of online pharmacies that will deliver your prescriptions to you at home free of charge.
You can select one of these pharmacies using the guidance above.
What this means for you:
- You can choose a pharmacy that delivers direct to your home. These pharmacies have websites online and you can choose to receive your prescriptions from them.
Printed prescriptions from your GP
If you are unable to travel or access digital services, your GP practice can print your prescription tokens a family member or carer can collect it and take it to another pharmacy.
Many pharmacies can help with advice and over the counter medicines for mild conditions without needing a GP appointment.
